The wind plays a very important role in the growth and preservation of the vineyards. Our neighbors the Tyrrhenian Sea (7 miles southwest) and Mount Amiata  (25 miles northward), create a constant  breeze that provides sodium and iodine to the vineyards; qualities that are also naturally found in the wine.

  • La Maremma

Maremma, virgin and uncontaminated,  from the mountains it slopes gently downward towards the sea. Its hills are covered  with majestic oaks and olive trees ; inspiring peace and serenity. Once a desolate  land, where  malaria and drought dominated, today it is a place of wild natural beauty that contains clear rivers and lakes as well as a coastline which is mostly deserted.

Incredibly uninhabited, at  the centre of a territory that has the highest  concentration of history and art in the world ; the maremma emerges from hard and painful natural selection, a heritage from the past for a future that is aware and in harmony with nature.
